Witch's Theme.
At times you’re alone with a creation and you don’t really know what to do with it.
I’m slow on the uptake and the upload. This is a music video. Witch’s Theme. Not the first. (Here’s some more) Slowly, you can catch the theme. So does it even belong on Substack? What value will a video add? I try to describe it with actual words, with a link to click. A play to press. You choose. Leave it be. I’ll write something about it. An explanation. A description. An apology. A statement.
Perhaps you’re just sitting there, alone with a creation and you don’t really know what to do with it. Where does it belong? It may seem that it needs to find a bigger life than the one you imagined. Watery trees, brooding skies, shifting sands, tidal movements and the hope of signs of life. Which way should it move next? So …
Taken to the edge of the water
where the land gives up and the wind keeps what it finds.
No fire, only stone and the long patience of the tide.
Beneath it now.
Listening to the slow breathing of the sea.
No one comes.
Only the gulls, and the weight of years pressing down.
Silt and seaweed.
It is quiet there.
Quieter than forgiveness.
Witchcraft.
A tangle.
A theme.
